Glenview, IL—Wespath Benefits and Investments (Wespath), an agency of The United Methodist Church, today announced Wilford (Bill) Kavanaugh as its Chief Operating Officer, effective September 1, 2016.
According to Barbara Boigegrain, General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Wespath, “Bill’s financial acumen, along with his leadership and oversight of all aspects of distribution systems, offers great opportunity to move our organization forward.”
Kavanaugh comes to Wespath from Allstate Insurance Company, where he most recently held the dual role of Senior Vice President, Life and Retirement Distribution and President and Chief Executive Officer, Allstate Financial Services, LLC. Prior to that, Kavanaugh spent 10 years with Securian Financial Group.
Kavanaugh will have oversight of Wespath’s administrative and operational departments.
Kavanaugh received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Florida and holds a master’s degree in financial services from The American College. He also has received certification as a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter and Accredited Estate Planner.
