Wespath CIO Johara Farhadieh Named to 2025 Influential Women in Institutional Investing List

Glenview, IL – Wespath’s Johara Farhadieh has been selected as one of Pensions & Investments’ 2025 Influential Women in Institutional Investing honorees, per the publication’s announcement today. The list honors exceptional women investment professionals whose leadership and insight are shaping the future of the industry.

“Recognitions like this remind me how fortunate I am to love my work and to wake up each day with the opportunity to make a difference for incredible people and organizations,” said Farhadieh. “I’m deeply grateful to the colleagues and mentors who have shaped and inspired my journey, especially the outstanding Wespath leadership team today. It’s also an honor to be recognized alongside so many accomplished women on this year’s list. Thank you!”

Farhadieh joined Wespath in October 2023 and has served as the organization’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) since August 2024. She is also Chief Executive Officer of Wespath Institutional Investments (WII), a Wespath subsidiary providing Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) services to values-based nonprofits. Farhadieh is one of more than 40 women investment professionals recognized in this year’s Pensions & Investments’ list.

Prior to Wespath, Farhadieh served as Executive Director and CIO of the Illinois State Board of Investment. Her previous leadership earned her distinctions such as Notable Executive of Color in Finance by Crain’s Chicago Business and Pensions & Investments’ Excellence & Innovation Leadership Award.
