Affordable Housing Highlight

Wespath’s Positive Social Purpose (PSP) Lending Program works to promote affordable housing and community development while seeking market-rate returns. One PSP investment property is West End Heights, a 60-unit development in Ithaca, New York. 63% of the units serve individuals supported by a local nonprofit that assists people experiencing mental illness or transitioning out of homelessness; the remaining units are rent-restricted to ensure long-term affordability. West End Heights also features fossil fuel free, electric heat pumps and LEED certification. Learn more about how Wespath lives out its approach to stewardship with the PSP Program.

Microfinance Loan Highlight

Beyond affordable housing investments, the PSP Lending Program also invests in global microfinance loans, providing much needed capital to individuals and small businesses working to build sustainable livelihoods. These loans help entrepreneurs grow their businesses, generate steady income, and strengthen local economies.

One such loan transformed a community in South Africa by providing a financing guarantee to a Black, female-owned bus co-operative, enabling the purchase of 24 buses. The impact extended well beyond the owners of the co-op, improving access to transportation in underserved townships and creating 55 new jobs for the community.
